“ | I am a Candy Cadet. Come get your candy here. I have candy all day. Every day. Candy. Candy. Candy. Candy. | ” |
— Candy Cadet
|
Candy Cadet is a Candy Vendor who told dark stories in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator. Candy Cadet returns as a minor character in Security Breach's DLC, RUIN, and Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2
Appearance[]
Candy Cadet is a rusted, broken down robot with colorful lights wrapping around its head and torso. In the middle of his torso is a slot made to dispense candy, and above it are three small red lights. His right arm is a long, rubber tube with a two-pronged hand at the end, meanwhile his left arm is broken in the middle, revealing wires dangling out of the tube. His pelvis is made up of a large box with coin slots in it connected to two wheels, and another rubber tube connecting it to the torso. Finally, both Candy Cadet's antennas appear to be broken, with the right one being drooped downwards at all times, and the left one missing the orb at the top of it, revealing wires coming out, as well as the spring that wraps around the antenna coming off.
Candy Cadet's appearance is heavily altered from how the character looked like in FFPS. While most of his body remains unchanged, minus the withering, the head has the noticeable difference of the lights on Candy Cadet's head wrapping around the entire head, rather than remaining in the middle of his "face". As well as this, his antenna are no longer colored, and the large colored light on the top of Candy Cadet's head is now missing.
History[]
Candy Cadet was one of many purchasable vendors in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, costing $310 and providing 3 entertainment and 3 bonus revenue. Interacting with Candy Cadet allowed the player to dispense tokens for candy, with a small chance at Candy Cadet telling the player a dark story afterwards. As seen in RUIN, Candy Cadet was heavily damaged by the fire at the end of FFPS, but is still somewhat functional, and able to tell a new story about a mother and her son living in the woods with a monster.
Gameplay[]
RUIN[]
Candy Cadet's gameplay is similar to how it was in his debut game, with the player having to insert Faz-Tokens scattered around the area to listen to his story. Unlike his debut however, he dispenses no Candy, and only tells the story in parts, likely due to his damaged state. The story he tells is about a woman and her son living in the woods. A monster lurked in the woods before the mother caught it and trapped it in their basement. The monster commonly made noises that scared the boy, but the mother would reassure him that things would be okay, and would sing the boy a lullaby at night. Eventually, the monster learned the lullaby, and on a day that the mother was out, it sang the song, causing the young boy to open the door to where it was.
“ | Now I will tell you a story. About a mother and a little boy who lived alone in a cabin in the dark woods. There was a monster in the woods, but the mother caught it and kept it locked in the basement. The monster always made scary noises at night, but the mother would tell the boy not to worry because it could never get out. Then she would sing the boy a lullaby to sleep. One day, the monster stopped growling and instead, listened and learned the lullaby. The next day when the mother went out to find food, the monster sang the lullaby from the basement. The little boy heard the lullaby and opened the door. | ” |
Help Wanted 2[]
Candy Cadet's role in Help Wanted 2 is virtually similar to his role in RUIN, telling the player bits and pieces of a story as they insert Faz-Tokens into him. Said tokens can be found throughout various levels. Candy Cadet is only visible in the real world, requiring the player to remove the Security Mask before being able to interact with him. In Help Wanted 2, Candy Cadet's story follows a nameless woman who gets lured into the woods by a witch as a child. The woman escaped the witch before being eaten, and later sought revenge once she had grown up. She would gain the help of a young boy to stop the witch, however the story ends with the reveal that the witch had, presumably, tricked the woman.
“ | Now let me tell you a story about a young woman who, when she was little, was led into a dark forest by a witch and almost eaten. She had fallen for the friendly voice without discernment and was led astray. She had escaped before being thrown into the oven but would have a scar for the rest of her life. When she had grown, she sought revenge on the witch and entered the forest again willingly, this time with the confidence of age and experience. She was greeted at the mouth of the forest by a young boy who offered to help guide her through the darkness. She welcomed the help and followed the young boy over the river, through the jagged trees, and toward a small house. 'Come,' the boy said, 'rest here before killing the witch.' The young woman was tired and would kill the witch in the morning. She followed the boy into the house. The oven door closed. The witch would finally have her meal. | ” |
Candy Cadet will then start a different story after the first, telling the player the tale of a family who died after not taking a limited-time offer for a family-style meal at a Freddy Fazbear's location.
“ | Now I will tell you a story. About a family that missed the most important opportunity in their lives. It was a limited time offer that included a family-style pizza with all their favorite toppings. It also came with a side of fries, mozzarella sticks, extra-large soft drinks, and a toy surprise. It was only $49.99 while supplies lasted. They did not purchase the food and they all died. | ” |

Model & Animations[]
Trivia[]
- Candy Cadet has the most drastic model shift of any returning character from the original Clickteam games, as while others had slight edits, Candy Cadet's model seems to be entirely new.
- The pose Candy Cadet is in when he's found is very similar to his pose in Ultimate Custom Night, even jolting awake with his lights glowing like in that game when the player firsts approaches him.
- It is possible that Candy Cadet's story is meant to be in direct reference to the story of RUIN as a whole, with the monster being the Mimic and the "young boy" being Cassie, lured downwards by a familiar voice.
- It is unclear what either of Candy Cadet's stories are meant to represent in Help Wanted 2, though it is likely that the second one has no meaning considering the majority of the second story is an advertisement.
