Foxy the Pirate, otherwise known as simply Foxy, is a major character and antagonist in the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy's Movie. He acts as a side-show, Pirate Entertainer for the location, and is based on the character of the same name from the games.

Appearance[]

Foxy's appearance is completely accurate to his appearance in the game, aside from his pants which are comprised of real material rather than just being brown-colored suit parts. He is a light red color with damaged legs, a hooked hand and his signature eyepatch that's duct taped to the back of his head.

The Ghost Child who possesses Foxy is shown to be a short boy with red hair. He wears a long-sleeved orange shirt, dark blue pants, and most notably, a prop hook around his right hand. In a scene where he has a confrontation with Mike, he is shown to have the ability to turn his eyes a deep black color.

Personality[]

For the first portion of the film, Foxy is depicted to be somewhat of an emotionless killer, much like the other animatronics; being very hostile and untrustworthy towards any adults who enter the location, and showing no qualm with killing them. He is also often portrayed as particularly aggressive; attacking Mike multiple times, and being the first animatronic to approach William. Despite this, Foxy is actually revealed to be relatively harmless, as displayed through his friendship with Abby. This friendship also showcases how he is fairly kind towards children, being depicted as hostile up to the point where Abby introduces Mike as her brother. Unlike the others, Foxy appears to have a somewhat constant curious and happy nature, as depicted by his ears often perking up when watching Abby interact with the others, as well as him often having an extremely happy expression during these same scenes.

History[]

Before Five Nights at Freddy's[]

Long before the events of the film, the child who possesses Foxy was murdered by William Afton, and eventually stuffed inside the Foxy animatronic. For an unknown amount of time after, Foxy and his friends would kill people that William Afton, under the alias of Steve Raglan, lured into the Pizzeria as night guards.

At some point, Foxy befriended Vanessa Shelly, though it is unclear as to if this was before or after he was murdered and possessed the animatronic. As well as this, unlike the other animatronics, Foxy is seen to have gone through severe withering throughout the years; being notably more damaged than the others. It is unknown why or how Foxy became this damaged.

Five Nights at Freddy's[]

At the very start of the film, we see the nightguard, Bob, running from the animatronics. While none of them are visibly shown in the scene, Foxy's singing can be heard before a POV of the animatronic running towards Bob is shown. While it is clear that Foxy is the one to knock-out Bob, it is unclear as to if he is the one who puts Bob in the Torture Freddy chair or not.

Later, during his first shift at Freddy's, Mike Schmidt falls asleep in his office and has a dream of the day his brother was taken from him. During said dream, he was confronted by the six ghost children, including Foxy's. When Mike attempts to ask them what happened to Garret, they all ran away.

During his second shift, Mike fell asleep again and had the same dream, becoming more furious in his attempt to get the ghosts to answer his question. Despite this, like before, Foxy and the other ghost children ran away, though Mike gives chase to Foxy's. As he catches up to Foxy's ghost child, he slashes Mike's arm with his prop hook, causing Mike to bleed in real life. As Mike looks back at the ghost child, the child screams as his eyes have now turned black, and black tears have begun to run down his face. After the jumpscare wakes Mike up from the dream, he finds the office's lights and sound system are malfunctioning. As he runs to shut it off, Foxy can be seen watching him from the hallway. Later, Mike meets Vanessa, who decides to properly introduce the animatronics to him. She does this by pressing the large "Showtime" button beside the main stage, which causes the lights to start up and the animatronics to begin performing the song Talking in Your Sleep by The Romantics. Foxy during this is seen popping out from his side-stage on a moving platform. Though midway through their performance, Bonnie's guitar short-circuits and causes Foxy and the other animatronics to deactivate, and the curtains to close.

After Mike's second shift, a group of criminals break into Freddy's to trash the place and get Mike to lose his job. During this break-in, each animatronic picks off one of the criminals. After Bonnie, Chica, & Mr. Cupcake have taken out Hank and Carl respectively, Jeff is scared by them and attempts to leave. However, he finds that the exit door is locked, and is cornered by Foxy, who comes down the hall humming. As Jeff frantically attempts to open the door, Foxy proceeds to bolt down the hall and kills Jeff off-screen.

The next night, during Mike's third shift, Abby walks around the building and ends up in front of the main stage. After hearing her scream, Mike runs to find Abby and sees Foxy and the other animatronics huddled around her. After Abby eases the animatronics by introducing Mike, she explains that they were simply tickling her, and introduces each of them to Mike. She and Mike then leave, leaving Foxy and the others to appear sad at Abby's departure.

In Mike's fourth and second-to-last shift, Mike and Abby enter, and Abby immediately runs up to greet the animatronics on the front-stage as Foxy watches with a happy expression. Abby then approaches Mike and Vanessa with plans to build a fort. Following this, Foxy aids the group in building a fort out of tables & chairs. When Abby claims that the fort be higher, Foxy and Bonnie team up to extend the height of the fort. Once they've finished setting down the last table, Foxy is seen holding up his arms in celebration with Bonnie. With the fort is completed, Foxy lays down underneath it with the rest of the group. A few minutes pass, and Freddy and Bonnie go on-stage to perform Real Wild Child (Wild One) by Iggy Pop for Abby as she dances with Foxy & Chica. After being electrocuted by Bonnie's guitar, Foxy is seen surrounding Abby with Mike, Vanessa, and the other animatronics.

Before his final shift, Mike goes to Freddy's and forces himself to fall asleep to try to communicate with the ghost children one final time; being confronted by the six as usual. After the blonde-haired ghost child demands Mike give them Abby in exchange for Garret, Mike hesitantly accepts, before almost instantly realizing his mistake and taking it back. After this, Foxy and the other ghost children begin to rapidly attack Mike from all angles, badly injuring him in the real world, and seemingly are the ones who hook him up to Torture Freddy off-screen.

After being brought to the location by Golden Freddy, Abby finds Foxy and the others in their rightful places, all of them standing completely still. Suddenly, the animatronics reactivate, and once again begin performing Talking in Your Sleep for Abby. After Mike saves Abby from Chica, the two split up and Foxy's ghost child can be seen watching Abby before he steps back into Pirate's Cove and steps out as Foxy. As Abby hides in the arcade area's ballpit, Foxy begins to slowly approach her, crushing one of the ballpit's balls in the process. As Foxy leans down to search for Abby in the pit, he is suddenly electrocuted by Vanessa, and collapses onto the floor. Later on, Afton calls for the children to wake up, causing each of the deactivated animatronics to stand up. While Foxy isn't shown to stand up during this, his appearance later on in the following scenes imply that he likely did.

Eventually, Abby is able to stick up a drawing of what Afton actually did to the children, causing Foxy and the other animatronics to realize he's been lying to them. Before he can approach Abby to take down the drawing, Foxy stands between them, and glares at William. As the four animatronics begin to surround William, he panics and begins to insult them. After Mr. Cupcake attacks William his springlock suit begins to go off, and the location's power begins to flicker. Foxy and the others continue to glare at William, their eyes slowly turning red as they approach him. Foxy then hooks his hook-hand onto William's arm, and joins the animatronics in pulling his bleeding body away as the building begins to full apart. It is unknown what happens to Foxy, or the other animatronics, after the building is done falling to pieces.

Trivia[]

  • While a repaired version of Foxy was made and featured in a few scenes, it ultimately went unused in the final cut of the movie.
    • Through this repaired version, it is revealed that Foxy has furry legs and only two toes, which can be seen from his endoskeleton.
    • This makes it the first and only time that a repaired Classic Foxy was shown in the franchise, via the "Behind The Scene" image.
  • During the film's production, Foxy's arm malfunctioned and ignited on set.
  • Foxy's "Diddledum" song is performed by Kellen Goff, who also voices Funtime Freddy, Molten Freddy and Glamrock Freddy.
    • This also makes Foxy the only animatronic with a voice actor.
    • This also marks the first time Kellen Goff played Foxy.
  • The security guard Foxy murders at the beginning of the film was originally intended to be played by famous YouTuber, Markiplier, who claims he couldn't make the part due to scheduling conflicts with the film Iron Lung. This was most likely meant to be a reference to the fact that Foxy was infamously the first animatronic to kill Markiplier in his playthrough of the original game.
  • Foxy has the highest kill count in the film, ranging up to 2 whereas his bandmates only have 1 at best.
    • Out of his bandmates, he also came the closest to killing Mike.
  • When Foxy attacks Jeff, the original jumpscare scream from the first game can be heard.
  • In the original trailer as well as a few others follow, Foxy and the other animatronics' eyes would become red. This was met with mixed reaction from the community, some finding it funny and others hating it. Once the movie released, however, the red eyes had been completely scrubbed, with several scenes featuring the eyes not being in the theatrical release.
  • Unlike the other animatronics, Foxy is the only animatronic who isn't portrayed by an actor because of his body structure and tears. Instead, he is controlled by a puppeteer rig.
  • Both kills performed by Foxy, being the ones on Jeff and Bob, are extremely similar, with Foxy humming as his victim is cornered by a locked exit, before bolting at them. The only notable difference is that Jeff was never seen strapped into the Torture Freddy chair, nor did he appear to ever come into contact with it when his corpse is seen later.
    • This is odd, as it implies that Foxy intentionally did not kill Bob for the purpose of putting him in the chair, but had no qualms outright killing Jeff.
  • Despite Foxy's portrayal in the film showing him to be more aggressive, Bonnie is described as the most aggressive of the group.[1]
