Fredbear is the predecessor to Freddy Fazbear and the original mascot for Fazbear Entertainment and their original location, Fredbear's Family Diner. After debuting in the series' third entry, Fredbear has acted mostly as an easter egg or minor character in his appearances, including his frequent appearance as a background character in the form of posters and cut-outs found throughout Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex in FNaF: Security Breach as well as its DLC, RUIN. These posters also make breif cameo appearances in FNaF: Into the Pit.
A prototype model of Fredbear would later make an appearance in FNaF: Secret of the Mimic as a wearable springlock suit.
Fredbear also appears as one of the NPC characters in Freddy In Space 2, acting as the player's guide and the commander of the Faz-Squad.
Appearance[]
In his cutout and poster appearances, Fredbear is depicted as a large cartoon bear with an orangey-gold fur color and a dark colored bowtie and matching top hat. He also has deep blue eyes. In the Fredbear's Singin' Show poster specifically, Fredbear appears mostly identical, albeit in complete black and white and with a much simpler cartoon appearance.
Prototype Fredbear[]
Prototype Fredbear is a rudimentary springlock suit that appears weathered and mostly unfinished. The grungy, metallic suit has a round frame and a tall head, as well as four fingers instead of the usual five typically seen on springlock suits. His limbs are connected together with rubber tubing and springs, and all four of them are covered in extra metal panels bolted on top of the suit. The head holds a large nose, small ears, two rows of teeth with buck teeth on the top, empty eye sockets, and an unpainted hat. Finally, the suit has a large purple bowtie that can be pulled on to act as a button that opens the stomach hatch to let somebody crawl inside.
Freddy in Space 2[]
Fredbear's appearance in Freddy in Space 2.
Throughout the game, he is only seen with his floating head on the screen. He wears a purple hat and a headphone with a mic. His overall appearance is similar to Freddy Fazbear but with yellow fur and dark blue eyes.

In each level of Freddy In Space 2 (including the secret level at the end of Lunar Mines), Fredbear will give information about where the player is and who to save at the end of the level. When the player is off the radar, Fredbear will warn the player and tell them to be careful.
Secret of the Mimic[]
Prototype Fredbear appears as one of many wearable springlock suits hidden in Murray's Costume Manor's Research and Development section. After the player has unlocked a door through the usage of a different suit, they can access the stage Fredbear stands in. After reattaching the lever to the stage curtain and using it to open the stage, the player can activate the suit and wear it, hiding them from the Mimic, as well as allowing them to place another suit under the security light to drain the power and allow them access to the office holding F10-N4.
Trivia[]
- Fredbear's depictions in artwork seen in Security Breach and Secret of the Mimic feature the character looking closer to Freddy than Fredbear.
- This could be due to old age, as older papers often have their color slowly darken and fade with age, which could explain why his black clothing appears to have a slight tint of color to them.
- Prototype Fredbear is the second modeled appearance of the character, with the first being his easter egg appearance in Ultimate Custom Night.
