— Freddy's ghost kid calling out to Max.

Freddy Fazbear is a major character and antagonist in the Five Nights at Freddy's Movie. He acts as the lead vocalist and mascot for Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, and is based on the character of the same name from the games.
Appearance[]
Freddy's appearance in the film is largely similar to his game counterpart, being a large brown bear animatronic wearing a black top hat and bowtie. Freddy's coloration in the film is notably closer to his coloration in Help Wanted than his appearances in the original Five Nights at Freddy's and Special Delivery. His cheeks also seem to be slightly smaller than they are in the games. As well as this, his tophat and bowtie are now made of fabric, rather than the plastic-like material from the games. This also gives his Bowtie a unique, frilly appearance.
The Ghost Child who possesses Freddy is portrayed by a young boy with black hair, a yellow and white striped shirt, and long black pants. His most notable feature is his large white paper top hat with a black strap around it.
Personality[]
For the first portion of the film, Freddy is depicted to be somewhat of an emotionless killer, much like the other animatronics; being very hostile and untrustworthy towards any adults who enter the location, and showing no qualm with killing them. Unlike the others, however, Freddy does not immediately confront or corner his victim, instead opting to use an apparition of his soul to lure Max into the back room and trick her into believing a child was hiding inside a deactivated animatronic, before ultimately biting her in half.
Despite this, Freddy is actually revealed to be relatively harmless, as displayed through his friendship with Abby. This friendship also showcases how he is fairly kind towards children, almost to a protective nature as he attempts to approach Mike before Abby reveals that he's her brother. After Vanessa reveals this to Mike, Freddy, as well as the other animatronics, takes on a more child-like personality; playing with Mike, Abby and Vanessa, and building a pillow fort with them. Furthermore, Freddy hugs the girl before she leaves to go back into the office for the night, is seen extending his hand out towards her during her second visit to the pizzeria and participated in building a fort with her and the others.
History[]
Before Five Nights at Freddy's[]
Long before the events of the film, the child who possesses Freddy was murdered by William Afton, and eventually stuffed inside the Freddy Fazbear animatronic. For an unknown amount of time after, Freddy and his friends would kill people that William Afton, under the alias of Steve Raglan, lured into the Pizzeria as night guards.
At some point, Freddy befriended Vanessa Shelly, though it is unclear as to if this was before or after he was murdered and possessed the animatronic.
Five Nights at Freddy's[]
During his first shift at Freddy's, Mike Schmidt explored the pizzeria, and had found the seemingly deactivated Freddy on the show stage alongside Bonnie & Chica. Later, after falling asleep, Mike had a dream of the day his brother was taken from him. During said dream, he was confronted by the six ghost children, including Freddy's. When Mike attempted to ask them what happened to Garret, they all ran away.
During his second shift, Mike fell asleep again and had the same dream, becoming more furious in his attempt to get the ghosts to answer his question. Despite this, like before, Freddy and the other ghost children ran away. After waking up from the dream, Mike meets Vanessa, who decides to properly introduce the animatronics to him. She does this by pressing the large "Showtime" button beside the main stage, which causes the lights to start up and the animatronics to begin performing, with Freddy himself singing the song Talking in Your Sleep by The Romantics. Though midway through their performance, Bonnie's guitar short-circuits and causes Freddy and the other animatronics to deactivate, and the curtains to close.
After Mike's second shift, a group of criminals break into Freddy's to trash the place and get Mike to lose his job. During this break-in, each animatronic picks off one of the criminals, except Freddy. After none of the group leave the pizzeria, Maxine, who drove the other three over, decides to enter the location and find them, only to see a child call out to her and then run away. Following the kid, she finds Freddy standing in the middle of a workshop room. After hearing the kid say "Warmer", Maxine spots Freddy, and believing the kid to have hidden inside Freddy, she begins to approach the animatronic. As she approaches, the child continues to say "warmer", before Maxine decides to grab a folding chair and stand on it to look inside the animatronic. As she's looking, the hand of Freddy's soul bursts from his mouth and pulls Maxine into it, before Freddy promptly chomps down on her, cutting her in half.
The next night, during Mike's third shift, Abby walks around the building and ends up in front of the main stage. Here, she is confronted by Freddy, who begins to approach her. After hearing her scream, Mike runs to find Abby and sees Freddy and the other animatronics huddled around her. After Freddy begins to menacingly approach him, Mike grabs a chair and runs towards the animatronic. Just as Freddy's eyes begin to glow a deep orange, Mike pauses, and Abby reveals to the animatronics who he is, causing Freddy eases his stance and expression, and allows Mike to go meet the other animatronics with Abby. Abby explains that they were simply tickling her, and introduces member of the band to Mike. After a few minutes, Mike tells Abby that they have to leave, she turns to Freddy who hugs her. As Abby walks away, Freddy looks at her with a sad expression.
In Mike's fourth and second-to-last shift, Mike and Abby enter, and Abby immediately runs up to greet Freddy and the others. Freddy holds out his hand to greet Abby, to which she gladly high-fives it. Abby then approaches Mike and Vanessa with plans to build a fort. As she explains these plans, Freddy, as well as Bonnie & Chica, stare down at the three. Afterwards, Freddy aids the group in building a fort out of tables & chairs. Once the fort is completed, Freddy lays down underneath it with the rest of the group. A few minutes pass, and Freddy goes on-stage with Bonnie to perform Real Wild Child (Wild One) by Iggy Pop for Abby as she dances with Chica & Foxy. After being electrocuted by Bonnie's guitar, Freddy is seen surrounding Abby with Mike, Vanessa, and the other animatronics.
Before his final shift, Mike goes to Freddy's and forces himself to fall asleep to try to communicate with the ghost children one final time; being confronted by the six as usual. After the blonde-haired ghost child demands Mike give them Abby in exchange for Garret, Mike hesitantly accepts, before almost instantly realizing his mistake and taking it back. After this, Freddy and the other ghost children begin to rapidly attack Mike from all angles, badly injuring him in the real world, and seemingly are the ones who hook him up to Torture Freddy off-screen.
After being brought to the location by Golden Freddy, Abby finds Freddy and the others in their rightful places, all of them standing completely still. Suddenly, the animatronics reactivate, and once again begin performing Talking in Your Sleep for Abby. As Chica lures Abby into the backroom, Freddy stands with Bonnie on stage to look out for Mike. However, Freddy is shown to be too caught up in performing, as when Bonnie attempts to warn him of Mike's presence, Freddy fails to notice, and by the time he looks over, Mike is hidden from view. After Freddy goes back to performing, Mike uses a nearby bucket of water to electrocute both him and Bonnie, immobilizing them temporarily. Minutes later, Mike is knocked unconscious by William Afton, who calls for the children to wake up, causing Freddy and the other electrocuted animatronics to stand back up and come to his aid. Freddy and Bonnie then proceed to stand at the edge of the stage and watch as Vanessa confronts William.
Eventually, Abby is able to stick up a drawing of what Afton actually did to the children, causing Freddy and the other animatronics to realize he's been lying to them. As the four animatronics begin to surround William, he panics and begins to insult them. As his springlock suit begins to go off, and the location's power begins to flicker, Freddy and the others glare at William, their eyes slowly turning red as they approach him. Freddy then looks up and screams before the animatronic pull Afton's bleeding body away, and the building begins to full apart. It is unknown what happens to Freddy, or the other animatronics, after the building is done falling to pieces.
Trivia[]
- For unknown reasons, Freddy's original actor Adam Hann-Byrd was replaced with Kevin Foster.
- The image used for the movie's Snapchat filter is actually a render made by Ramchoops for this very wiki.[1]
- From the looks of the advertisements every character has a color they are assigned, with Freddy's being red.
- This is even more evident with the red stained glasses featuring Freddy and with the child having a red balloon in the opening credits.
- Interestingly enough, when Freddy Fazbear's eyes glow orange, his irises turn into a greenish hue.
- Freddy killing Max by biting her in two is similar to the Bite of '83, where the Crying Child was decapitated by a Fredbear animatronic. As a consequence, this scene has been jokingly referred to as the film's adaption of the Bite of '87, another event in the Five Night's At Freddy's franchise that is comically mistaken for the former.
