— One of the Mannequins' many lines.
|
The Mannequins are a large collection of animatronic mannequins found in different areas of Murray's Costume Manor. They are stationary entities who spout out a variety of overly enthusiastic lines as if they were patrons attending an event and paying to play games. They act as minor obstacles in Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic.
Appearance[]
The Mannequins are extremely simple in appearance, being exactly what they are named; mannequins. They are humanoid animatronics with white foam bodies that have begun to yellow from age, and have extremely simple metallic joints on their necks, shoulders, pelvis and ankles to allow for minimal movements. On their chests, they have the MCM logo between two glowing orange triangles emulating a bowtie, and below that is a large gray speaker. Their face, shoulders, torso and right leg all feature red and blue dotted lines and arrows going along them vertically. Along their stomach area are two white strips that wrap around their torsos. Below the white strips are multiple row of gray text. The first row reads "BOY / GIRL" on the right, "MODEL 9" in the center, and "1972" on the left. The second row reads "USA STANDARD MEASUREMENT," with the row below that holds what seems to be a serial number reading "TDS-UT8 134754ALF2." The final bit of text just below the serial number is the number "#1979." Finally, at certain points on their torsos, the Mannequins have small silver nails embedded within them, with only the nail head visible.
The Mannequins can be seen in various different hats and outfits. These hats include Lasso Pig's boot, Birthday Puppy's bow, Birthday Puppy's party hat, a small cowboy hat, a crown, the Digityper's hat, each variant of the Mycellium Men's mushroom cap (sometimes with gloves), Jugband Monty's straw hat, Swing Bee's flower crown and antenna, a green top hat (sometimes seen crooked), and a blank party hat.
A set of 10 numbered Mannequins can be found in Big Top's Showroom. These mannequins have glowing green numbers on their backs going from 0-9, and a few have different line patterns on their bodies; sometimes lacking one or both of the dotted lines on their torso, or in some cases lacking it on their face. All of them also have the heads of the embedded nails painted red instead of the silver on the regular Mannequins. They also all have "FNAF" written in the blank space next to the "#1979," though it is unknown what it stands for here. Each one can be found wearing one of the above hats, though the hat each one wears is not randomized and is based on the number on their back.
Gameplay[]
The Mannequins during gameplay primarily act as obstacles, as anytime the player bumps into one, it'll automatically spew one of its many voicelines. They are most prominent during Big Top's Showroom and chase sequence, in which they will automatically alert Big Top to the player's current position, causing the player's death. They can also be found in other areas such as the Retail Showroom where they fulfill the same role. Initially, the only ones present in his room are the numbered ones, but once the power shuts down, a large horde of them will fill the room, and each subsequent power outage in the segment will result in the Mannequins scrambling themselves over and over.
The Numbered Mannequins always appear in Big Top's Showroom, in randomized positions. After Big Top leaves the room through the ceiling, all but the numbered Mannequins will be knocked down, and the player must match the numbers on their backs to the code to the door indicated by the hats displayed on a screen next to the door.
Later, more Mannequins can be seen acting as the audience for the Puppet show.

Trivia[]
- The Numbered Mannequins having "FNAF" on their torsos is an obvious reference to the franchise titles' frequently used abbreviation, though it's unclear as to why they have this abbreviation on them.
- During the rooftop segment, a singular Mannequin can be seen way out of bounds on top of the parking lot area. This is often mistaken as a strange figure by several fans.
- Due to multiple Mannequins being found out-of-bounds in Big Top's chase sequence, it is likely that this one's presence is a mistake, and the player is not meant to see it.
- These models are actually stored beside the jumpscare models for Jackie, M2, and Big Top, leading to some speculation of a jumpscared being planned for them at some point.
- The Mannequins appear to have a level of supernatural abilities, as the large horde of them that appear in Big Top's showroom are also the only ones to fall down after Big Top leaves the room.
- They are also somehow able to move without making any sound and extremely quickly.
