The Mascot Suits are a large group of characters whose empty costumes can be found scattered around the various areas within Murray's Costume Manor in various colors and states of decay. Nearly every full mascot costume found throughout the facility can be worn and used by the Mimic, acting as the most frequent antagonists in Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic. A handful of these mascots had also first appeared as minor eastereggs in the Security Breach DLC, RUIN.
Gameplay[]
The Mascot Suits can be found all throughout the MCM studio in various positions and states of creation and/or decay. Costumes that are standing upright are the ones that the Mimic can use to hunt the player, with any one of them having the potential to do so. Each time the player enters a room where the Mimic is able to begin hunting them, it will select one of the standing suits at random and begin to roam around the room, occasionally stopping to look around. Upon spotting the player, the Mimic will briefly stop before charging the player. To avoid the costume-wearing-Mimic during these encounters, the player can use distractions around the room to lure it to certain areas, or hide inside lockers or under crawlspaces. If the Mimic captures the player, it will jumpscare them.
The Mimic's behavior does not change when it picks different suits, though internally there are three suit "body types" that will determine the Mimic's animations depending on its chosen character.
Unique Suits[]
A handful of specific mascot suits are treated differently to the usual ones in both RUIN and Secret of the Mimic, being set antagonists with dedicated areas and encounters rather than random spawns in rooms. These include the following:
![]() Party Time Chica |
![]() White Tiger |
![]() Sleepy Moon |
![]() Mascot |
Appearances[]
While the mascot suits all hold unique appearances, each suit follows one of three internal body types that determines the suit's animations and general body shape. Each suit has at least three differently colored variants, and all but two suits have unfinished foam variants with revealed endoskeleton joints on the legs and arms. Finally, every single suit, suit variation, and foam suit have dirty/damaged variations that can appear. While the individual dirt stains and tears in suits vary between the character and color of the suit, all include large gray patches of the suit's stuffing being shown, and most of them have the paint on their eyes scratched out.
Body Type A Suits[]
Elephant Mascot[]
The Elephant mascot is the first mascot the player encounters in Secret of the Mimic, and one of the three returning ones from RUIN. In RUIN, the costume does nothing more than hang in a closet inside the room the Mimic is sealed in. In Secret of the Mimic, however, the costume plays a slightly more notable role than most, being scripted to always be the very first mascot costume encountered, with it stalking the player when they turn on the power before it breaks out of a crate in the player's way, being the first enemy in the game.
Appearance[]
The Elephant's default appearance is that of a gray elephant dressed as a clown. They have circular rosy cheeks, long eyelashes, and plain white eyes with small, black pupils. They have a short trunk reaching down to their neck, and their top row of teeth is made up of two curved tusks. The Elephant's clown outfit is a half-green half-white outfit with the white half having tiny sparkled polka dots, three red pom-pom buttons on their chest, and large brown clown shoes. Their ankles, wrists and neck all have white frilled cuffs with red ends. They also have an extremely short tail sticking out the back of it with a small tuft of hair on the end. Finally, they wear a small party hat that matches the rest of their outfits half and half pattern and a red pom-pom on top.
The Elephant's appearance in RUIN is that of the above design, but with a slightly differently proportioned model, and a dirtier appearance.
The Elephant's orange variation takes on an appearance clearly based on Orville Elephant, a character from Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator. This variation takes on bright orange skin, blue eyes, and a dark orange suit covered in shiny yellow stars. It also wears a purple party hat with a white stripe near the bottom of it, and its frilled cuffs are a bright pink with purple trims.
The Elephant's final appearance is that of a bright pink elephant wearing bright blue striped clothes. Its face has large purple face paint around their eyes and on their eyelashes, small lighter spots on their ears, and bright pink cheeks. Their blue striped clothing is two-toned, with two shades of light blue in a vertical stripe pattern, and the cuffs and color are now salmon colored. Finally their hat, shoes and pom-pom buttons are all a seafoam green color, with the hat having a small orange pom pom.
On top of its base three variants, the Elephant is unique in that some areas actually hold combinations of the existing variants, most notably the orange variant wearing the clothing of the default one, or the default variant wearing the clothing of the pink elephant. It is the only mascot suit to have this trait, likely due to its skin and suit textures being entirely separate, unlike other suits where at least one part overlaps with the other.
The Elephant's foam variant follows the same general pattern of all foam suits; being in the general shape of the suit made of stitched together foam pieces that have yellowed over time. The Elephant's foam variant has multiple bits of writing on it to signify what suit pieces would go on the left or right, as well as red outlines for where the eyebrows would be attached, and where the nostrils in the trunk would be cut out.
The feet of the Covered Elephant mascot.
Finally, Elephant has one final variant that the player cannot actually encounter in-game as an enemy. At multiple points throughout MCM, a covered Elephant costume can be found throughout the facility, acting as a static prop. Only the Elephant's ankles are visible, with the remainder of its body being covered by a burlap tarp tied around the Elephant's legs. However, because the ankles are visible, it can be seen that this suit has a unique design to it, wearing light blue pants with turquoise stars on them, and light brown shoes with darker brown toes. The rest of this design is completely unknown, however.
Trivia[]
- The Elephant was the only one of the three RUIN mascot costumes to be shown in promotional material for Secret of the Mimic.
- This was possibly done due to the other two appearing in much fewer areas, or because the Elephant is the first suit encountered in every playthrough of the game.
- The Elephant is the only mascot costume whose variations share traits between each other, with most other mascot variants having entirely unique colorations.
- This also makes the Elephant the mascot suit with the technical most amount of variations in the game, having eleven counting the foam, dirty, and covered variations, as opposed to most other mascots who have anywhere from six to eight variations (sans the Mycellium Men, who hold second place at ten variations).
- The Elephant is the only mascot suit to have fully voiced lines, though they are sometimes used by other suits.
- These lines normally cannot be deciphered as the in-game sound engine Wwise lowers their pitch to the absolute maximum, leaving them sounding like drawn-out groans. The files for these lines themselves however, are unedited, allowing for translation.
Penguin Mascot[]
The Penguin mascot is the second of the three mascots introduced in RUIN as an easteregg. In RUIN, the costume does nothing more than hang in a closet inside the room the Mimic is sealed in. In Secret of the Mimic, it is one of the rarer mascot costumes, and is only encounterable in a few select areas throughout Murray's Costume Manor, most notably the Retail Showroom.
Appearance[]
The Penguin's default appearance is a large indigo bird with black hair cut into a bowl-cut, a wide yellow beak & matching legs. She wears large, pink glasses with pointed rims and bead-like hinges, matching bead bracelets, a white bib with a pink rim and a matching white & pink apron with a stitched heart on it. Finally, her beak is permanently affixed into a large smile, revealing a pointed magenta-colored tongue.
The Penguin's appearance in RUIN is that of the above design, but with a slightly differently proportioned model, and a dirtier appearance.
The Penguin's second variation is that of a vibrant pink bird with bright blonde hair. In this variant, she wears a light blue one-piece suit with red and purple hearts decorating it, and a small seafoam green bow. Her bracelets and the rims of her glasses have been changed to a similar seafoam green color to the bow, and the bead-like hinges on the glasses are now a bright baby blue. Her feet have been painted to appear as if she were wearing red heels, and she wears two red ankle bracelets. Finally, her eyes have been changed to a vibrant yellow with partially-closed light blue eyelids, and the tip of her beak progressively darkens in color to appear as a more brownish color.
The Penguin's final variation is that of a green bird dressed as a chef. She wears an all-white suit fitted with a chef's jacket and pants, with the jacket having small golden buttons and a blue trim, and black painted feet to appear as dress shoes. Around her waist is a white, blue-trimmed apron with a slice of bread in the center, and around her neck is a matching blue bib and a red bow. Her bracelets are a pale yellow, and her glasses are now made of gold. Finally, her eyes are a vibrant hazel color, and her hair is a matching ginger color.
The Penguin's damaged variants all share a unique quirk between each other of having a large crack-like tear in the center of the Penguin's stomach. This is done to make the hearts on the aprons of the first two variations appear as broken hearts, and by extension, the slice of bread shares this same motif.
Finally, the Penguin's foam variant follows the same general pattern of all foam suits; being in the general shape of the suit made of stitched together foam pieces that have yellowed over time. The Penguin's foam variant has multiple bits of writing on it to signify what suit pieces would go on the left or right, as well as red outlines for where the tongue would go, the nostrils cut out, and a bit of writing on the back of the head denoting a stitched line as the outline for the Penguin's hair piece. Strangely, the Penguin's foam variant has clown shoe-like feet that more closely match the Elephant mascot, as opposed to the three-toed bird feet worn by the finished suits.
Trivia[]
- Before Secret of the Mimic, many fans were unsure as to what kind of bird the Penguin was meant to be, as RUIN's files for the mascot suits did not discern any type of animal between the three, and simply labeled them as "Mascots".
- Initially, some jumped to her being some kind of corvid given the general color and beak shape, though Secret of the Mimic's files for the mascot would eventually reveal her to be a penguin.
Lion Mascot[]
The Lion mascot is the third and final mascot costume who debuted in RUIN. Unlike the other two, the Lion was never seen in-game, but was used as a base for the amalgamation costume used by the Mimic in the DLC's secret ending. In Secret of the Mimic, it is one of the rarer costumes, only encounterable in a few particular areas.
Appearance[]
The Lion's default appearance is that of a large yellow lion with a brown mane, zig-zagged whiskers, and sharp white claws. He wears a dark blue varsity jacket with lighter blue trims and a white logo that looks like a T & an L mixed together. The jacket on the suit uses three small buttons with X-stitch patterns on it to keep it closed, and beneath the jacket is a dark navy turtle-neck shirt with a light blue collar. He also has an extremely short tail sticking out the back of it with a small tuft of hair on the end. On the bottom of the lion's left foot, thin stitches can be seen barely keeping the fabric from ripping open, with the foam stuffing underneath being slightly visible. Finally, the suit's eyes are colored a dull gray.
Of the three RUIN mascots, the lion receives the most drastic redesign, most notably in the damaged variant. Much like the other RUIN costumes, the Lion's design is that of the default one in Secret of the Mimic, but with an older model and a dirty appearance. However, in RUIN, the Lion very notably has a very large gash across his stomach, which later has wires pouring out in the amalgamated suit Mimic wears. This gash is entirely absent in the Secret of the Mimic variation.
The Lion's second variation is that of a red lion with almond-colored fur and a pale pink colored snout and stomach. His mane is colored black, with light green painted streaks growing throughout it. This variation's most noteworthy feature is that of his missing eye, with his left eye and eye socket being painted a matte black with an eyepatch band going across its face to mimic an eyepatch over a pale pink scar. His right eye, on the other hand, is a lime green color with a pale yellow-green sclera. The Lion's top right tooth is golden in color while the other three which remain unchanged. The Lion's jacket is now a black leather jacket with gray trims, with the strange logo being a bright yellow, and it now has multiple silver zippers on the pockets and below the wrists. On the back of the jacket is a large stitched-on open maw with sharp teeth and small blue lightning bolts shooting out of it. Finally, the small tuft of hair on the tip of the Lion's tail has been changed not to a black color to match the mane, but is rather a dull, dark green color.
The Lion's third variation is that of a white lion, with light colored fur and a yellow mane. His face has been altered to now have a fancy mustache on his snout, a large black mole on his right cheek, and half-closed dark brown eyes. His jacket has been changed to a bowling jacket, being a shiny blue color with bright yellow trims, and a stitched-on design on its back featuring a bowling ball between two pins below an orange and white paw print. Finally, the T/L logo has been changed to that of a dark orange color, and the lion's undershirt has been changed to that of a purple and white stripped t-shirt.
Finally, the Lion's foam variant follows the same general pattern of all foam suits; being in the general shape of the suit made of stitched together foam pieces that have yellowed over time. The Lion's foam variant has multiple bits of writing on it to signify what suit pieces would go on the left or right, as well as red outlines for where the tongue, teeth, whiskers, eyebrows and ears would go. On top of this, the suit holds a large dotted line to outline where the mane would be attached, as well as labels for where to cut the suit to attach the mane. Strangely, the Lion's foam variant has clown shoe-like feet that more closely match the Elephant mascot, as opposed to the more paw-like feet seen on the finished suits.
Trivia[]
- The Lion's second variant may possibly be a reference to Scar, the main villain of Disney's 1994 The Lion King. This can be seen in the variant's similarly colored fur and mane to the character, the green eyes matching, as well as its scar being on the same eye as the Disney villain.
Birthday Puppy[]
Birthday Puppy is a large, dachshund-like mascot costume encounterable in multiple areas. It is one of two mascot costumes who is also a part of the Demo-tronic Welcome Show. They are a mascot owned by a company known as Best Birthday Co.
Appearance[]
Birthday Puppy is a large, orange dog-like suit with a long snout and a goofy face with its tongue sticking out at all times. They have large paws instead of hands with dark magenta claws. They wear a big, shiny, purple bowtie, green and purple striped pants, and a tall party hat. It has large bulging yellow eyes looking in opposing directions, with long eyelashes and dark magenta rings under the eyes. Birthday Puppy has a long yellow snout with a pink nose and a goofy face with a magenta tongue sticking out at all times. Finally, their tongue and ears both have a pink and yellow diagonal stripe pattern, and they have multiple square, crooked teeth.
Birthday Puppy is unique in that their variants are all identical, with the only difference being their shirt. The default appearance has Birthday Puppy wearing a dark orange shirt, similar to their animatronic counterpart. The two variants feature Birthday Puppy wearing a onesie with the green and purple striped pattern from their pants, and a variation in which Birthday Puppy wears no shirt at all.
Finally, the Birthday Puppy's foam variant follows the same general pattern of all foam suits; being in the general shape of the suit made of stitched together foam pieces that have yellowed over time. The Birthday Puppy's foam variant has multiple bits of writing on it to signify what suit pieces would go on the left or right, as well as red outlines for where their nose, teeth, bowtie, hat, eyelashes and tongue would go, with another red line around their waist signifying where their pants would be.
Trivia[]
- Despite Birthday Puppy's variants using the same base color scheme, Birthday Puppy does hold an alternate color variant seen as a variant of their animatronic counterpart, being a mostly white and blue variation.
- Birthday Puppy's pajama onesie variant has a notable error in its textures, lacking the stripes on the ears and having them be plain yellow.
- This is most definitely an error, as the dirty form of this same variant has the stripes again.
Body Type B Suits[]
Sharpay[]
Sharpay, unlike what their name implies, is a large poodle mascot who is often depicted as a barber and the mascot of Sharpay's Salon. Her default variant is one of only two mascots that the player is guaranteed to encounter, the other being the default Elephant mascot.
Appearance[]
Sharpay is a large off-white poodle character with a wide snout and a toothy grin. She has large, bulbous, blue eyes, long drooped ears, and a short tail. Atop her head, the tip of her tail, the ends of the ears and around her wrists and ankles is curly pink fluff. Finally, Sharpay wears a large blue dog collar with a golden tag that has a hair-dryer logo on it.
Sharpay's second variation is that of a mostly brown dog, with her fur being a dark brown color with some lighter orange spots, and her curled fluffy hair being a bright tan color. Her eyes are now colored brown, and their color has changed color to be green. Notably, this variant appears to be made of a leather-like material instead of fabric.
Sharpay's third variation is that of a Dalmatian, appearing as an all-white dog with charcoal-colored spots all over. The fluffy bits of hair are all a dark gray, and her eyes and collar remain the same blue as the default Sharpay.
Finally, Sharpay's foam variant follows the same general pattern of all foam suits; being in the general shape of the suit made of stitched together foam pieces that have yellowed over time. Sharpay's suit has multiple bits of red dotted lines on her head to signify changes to be made on specific parts, most notably where the eyes would go, as well as with markings on the ears and cheeks.
Trivia[]
- Sharpay's name is a clear reference to the dog breed shar peis.
- Despite this, Sharpay is more clearly based on a poodle than the dog she is named after.
- She also shares its name, as well as the origin for said name, with one of the main characters of the High School Musical franchise, Sharpay Evans, though this is likely a coincidence as there are nearly zero similarities between the two.
- While Sharpay's default variant is a mascot the player is guaranteed to encounter, it is not due to a scripted event like the elephant mascot, rather, it is due to Sharpay being the costume the Mimic will always inhabit after completing the Captain Springlock Suit.
Hedgehog Hudgie[]
Hedgehog Hudgie is a large hedgehog mascot and one of the more common suits throughout Murray's Costume Manor. He acts as the mascot for a candy company named Hudgies.
Appearance[]
Hedgehog Hudgie is a large cartoon hedgehog mascot with a tan stomach, long whiskers and a wide, derpy face. He has a sort of faux-hawk hairstyle made up of his quills, and extremely long whiskers. His eyes are far apart on his face, and and his snout, permanently affixed into a smile, has two small fangs on the upper lip. He has small claws on the tips of his fingers, and dotted patterns on his chest and stomach that match the rest of his fur color.
Hedgehog Hudgie is fairly simple in design in that his variations are all simply different colors. The default variation is that of a purple color, with the other two being green and red. His damaged variants all have a unique detail in that the quills on his head become less plentiful, as if his hair were thinning.
Finally, Hedgehog Hudgie's foam variant follows the same general pattern of all foam suits; being in the general shape of the suit made of stitched together foam pieces that have yellowed over time. Hudgie's suit has multiple bits of red dotted lines along his neck and lower jaw. Uniquely, this foam variation completely lacks Hedgehog Hudgie's recognizable faux-hawk, due to the foam suits lacking most details seen on the finished suits.
Trivia[]
- In files referencing Hedgehog Hudgie, he is referred to multiple times with both "Harry" and "Henry," implying earlier names for the character.
- While it's unknown why "Harry" would be scrapped, the name choice of Henry being changed was likely due to the existence of Henry Emily, a major character from Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator.
Lyrical Lemur[]
Lyrical Lemur is a large mascot costume of a cartoon ringtail lemur that takes on a variety of roles, and appears in a select few areas.
Appearance[]
Lyrical Lemur's default appearance is that of a cyan colored lemur with a creepy smiling face. It has large ears, a tuft of hair atop its head, and a rubber face with a long snout and a blue nose. It wears a small red jacket with gold trimming and a fancy golden design on it. Around its wrists and ankles are golden bracelets, and its long tail holds dark teal rings on it. Finally, its hands, feet, stomach and face are all a peach color and made of rubber instead of fabric.
Lyrical Lemur's second variation of Lyrical Lemur is that of a hippie-esc theme. It is almost entirely brown in color, with its fur being a light yellowish-brown, and the rings on its tail being a dark coffee color. It wears a dark brown jacket with a light brown trim and a design of a white daisy on the back of it, with pink flower and star design on the front left and a green flower and sun design on the front right. Underneath the jacket, the Lemur wears a light green, yellow and blue tie-dye shirt. Finally, their eyes are white with blue irises and half-closed eyelids to give a more relaxed expression.
The third variation is that of a purple colored lemur dressed as a mime. It has a white painted face with closed eyes, a blue mouth, and painted-on purple eyebrows. It wears a black and white striped open shirt with red cuffs and trimming, a matching black and white striped shirt beneath it, and a red scarf around its neck. Its hands are painted white to appear as cartoon gloves, and its ankle bracelets are now colored red. Finally, its tail has black rings around it as opposed to a darker version of its main fur color like the other variants.
Trivia[]
- Lyrical Lemur is one of only two costume types to lack a foam/unfinished variation, with the other being the Jester.
- The two both have foam heads that appear as props in the Workshop, however.
- The Mime variant is the only variation of Lyrical Lemur to lack a blue nose due to the entire face being painted white.
Body Type C Suits[]
Mycellium Men[]
The Mycellium Men are a group of Mushroom mascots who are a part of a cartoon produced by MCM. There are cartoon characters who are a part of a band , with each one playing a unique instrument. They also hold small bits of merchandise scattered throughout the facility, most notably the Mycellium Men parroting plushies that are said to repeat phrases.
Appearance[]
The Mycellium Men share a uniform appearance in being short mushroom men with long arms, a large mushroom cap, overalls and a long yellow scarf around their neck. They also wear large colored gloves, and black pointed shoes. Their mushroom caps are slightly lop-sided, and feature large spots that are the same color as the cap, but lighter in shade. The colors of the Mycellium Men's caps, overalls and gloves change depending on which member of the band is chosen, with the four colors being Light Blue, Red, Pink and Green.
In their animated commercial, the Mycellium Men appear slightly differently, with the Green and Blue ones being taller, and the Red and Pink ones appearing shorter and closer to the actual mascot costume. Each one is also given a different instrument, with the Green one playing a bass guitar, the Red one playing tambourines, the Blue one playing a regular guitar, and the Pink one playing the drums.
Finally, the Mycellium Man's foam variant follows the same general pattern of all foam suits; being in the general shape of the suit made of stitched together foam pieces that have yellowed over time. The Mycellium Man's foam suit has the most drastic changes out of any foam suits, lacking the character's gloves, scar, and mushroom cap, making them appear far less like their finished variant than most of the other suits.
Trivia[]
- The "Mycellium" in the name is misspelt with two l's in all promotional material, both in and out of game. According to a mailbox message in the game, Edwin claims that nobody will notice this fact, and that it will help them avoid copyright.
- The blue Mycellium Man used in promotional material for the game often had the Mimic's eyes peering through it's eye-sockets; this is something that cannot actually happen in-game due to the Mimic's model being absent whilst inhabiting a mascot suit.
- Despite there being four of them, the Mycellium Men do not have individual names.
- The in-game captions and credits do make reference to a character named "Shroom", a name which is attributed to the Musical Mycellium Man plush that speaks at the end of its designated commercial. The plush at the end of the commercial is of the Red Mycellium Man, which could indicate that "Shroom" is that one's specific name. However, the "Shroom" name is also attributed to the gargling sounds made by Kellen Goff for when the Mimic is inside one of the Mycellium Men mascot suits.[1] While Kellen attributes this to the blue Mycellium Man specifically, it is once again unclear as to if the name "Shroom" belongs to specifically that one.
- Within the Retail Showroom, a set of four Mycellium Men mascot suits can be found stood in a row, with each one being one of the color variants. Unlike every other Mycellium Man in the facility, these ones are uniquely sized,
Swing Bee[]
Swing Bee is a large bee mascot who is often recolored into other insects. It is also the second mascot suit to be a member of the Demo-tronic Welcome Show. They act as a mascot for a honey brand called Swing Bee Honey which is owned by Happy Bee Inc.
Appearance[]
Swing Bee's default appears is that of a large cartoon bee, being yellow in color with brownish-black stripes on its lower body. It has large blueish wings, long brown antenna with white balls on the end, and a small flower crown made of white daisies. Its face is fixed into a permanent smile, and it has a large red nose and orange cheeks. Its limbs are a dark brown with white mittens and yellow shoes respectively. Finally, it has a small, white, pointed stinger on its backside.
Swing Bee's secondary appearance is reminiscent of a ladybug, having a red body, black polkadots along its torso, and black limbs instead of brown. Its face is a bright pink color with red cheeks & lipstick, and its stinger has been changed to black. Its wings are also closer to pink than the previous blue coloration. Finally, it lacks the flower crown worn by the default variation.
Swing Bee's third appearance appears to take inspiration from a caterpillar, removing the wings and flower crown and turning the entire body into two shades of light green. Its cheeks are colored yellow, and its tongue and nose are a tangerine color. Finally, its gloves are changed to be a very pale yellow.
Finally, the Swing Bee's foam variant follows the same general pattern of all foam suits; being in the general shape of the suit made of stitched together foam pieces that have yellowed over time. Swing Bee's foam suit holds red markings to indicate where its nose, tongue, stinger and antenna should be inserted. Like other mascot suits, it lacks many of the finer details of the finished one, lacking the wings, antenna, stinger and flower crown entirely.
Trivia[]
- Swing Bee's green variation could be in reference to Carter Caterpillar, a minor character who appears only as a cutout and was originally planned to be one of the encounterable mascot suits.
- Swing Bee has two other variants that don't appear as mascot suits, but rather, are variations of its animatronic form that appear as static props in set places.
- Unlike the mascot suit variations, these variants are simple recolors and don't appear to make any attempt at being references to other bugs.
- Swing Bee's two variants appear to be some of the rarest in the game, only appearing in select places outside of the Retail Showroom.
- Similarly to the Elephant Mascot, Swing Bee's unique buzzing sounds can sometimes be used by other mascot suits.
Jester[]
The Jester mascot is a cartoon animal costume dressed as a typical depiction of a jester. He acts as the mascot for a cereal brand called Jest Oat Cereal, which is seemingly produced by Murracy Co. and MCM, and is known for a gimmick of having prank toys inside such as a hand buzzer.
Appearance[]
Jester is an unidentified, mouse-like animal dressed head-to-toe in a jester outfit, with a diamond-patterned suit, big clown shoes, and a frilled collar & matching cuffs. Its hands are styled to look like cartoony gloves, and it wears typical jester cap ’n bells hat has two ears with small pom-poms on the ends. The hat doubles as a mask that covers the upper half of the character's face. Said face is stuck in a permanent grin, with a large clown nose and sunken-in, purple eyes.
Jester comes in three major color variations, with the default being a half magenta half yellow outfit, with a purple nose, shoes, cuffs, and pom-poms. His second color variation is half green and half yellow with silver cuffs, black shoes and a yellow nose and gloves. His final color variation is almost completely monochromatic, with a black & gray outfit, a yellow nose, and dark brown shoes.
Trivia[]
- Jester is one of the suits worn by the Mimic in Tales from the Pizzaplex.
- Jester is unique in that unlike other mascot suits whose "names" are typically just what the suit is, Jester's name is shown in-game as just actually being "Jester," seen in the subtitles for his commercial appearance.
- This has led some to mistakenly believing his name to be "Jest" like the cereal brand he acts as a mascot for, though he is never referred to by this name anywhere.
- Jester is one of only two costume types to lack a foam/unfinished variation, with the other being Lyrical Lemur.
- The two both have foam heads that appear as props, however.
- It's unclear as to what exactly Jester actually is, as despite it's mouse-like appearance, it is never referred to with any animal name or designation.
- This is likely due to his extremely simple name.
- Jester's design was slightly altered before the release of the game, with earlier trailers showing a cutout that has a different collar and cuffs, as well as more traditional jester shoes.
- As seen from said cutout, Jester was also intended to be a type A mascot suit instead of the current state of it being a type C.
- This cutout would also be removed from the spot it was seen in before release, as that spot not remains empty, though it can still be found in the entrance to Big Top's showroom.
- Jester, despite having a voice role in a commercial, lacks a voice credit in the game.
Unused Content[]
Concept art of the mascot suits.
Concept art for the mascot suits reveal three unused mascot suits, being Carter Caterpillar, the Astronaut Monkey and a Daisy character. While the former two continue to appear in the game as character cutouts, the latter of the three would go entirely unused. Meanwhile, the concept art also reveals subtle changes to existing mascots, most notably changes made to the Elephant's outfit, and the Jester originally being a boy type A suit instead of the current body type C suit that it is in the final game.
Trivia[]
- Despite originating from RUIN like the Elephant and Penguin, the Lion mascot suit does not actually appear anywhere in-game outside of the amalgamated version of it in the game's Scooper Ending.
- During the Scooper Ending for RUIN, the Elephant and Penguin mascots strangely do not disappear or appear further damaged despite parts of their suits being used to make the suit the Mimic wears during this ending.
- None of the mascot costumes speak actual dialogue, though the Mimic can often be heard grumbling underneath the suit.
- Despite this, the Jester specifically does hold some voicelines due to it appearing in a commercial for the cereal brand the character is associated with.
- Almost every mascot suit has a different jumpscare scream, though most share their scream with at least one other suit, except the Jester, who has a unique scream in which it laughs.
- Some mascot costumes are rarer than others, and it's theoretically entirely possible for the player to make it through an entire playthrough without encountering certain characters in any form.
- The Elephant, Penguin, Lion and Jester mascots go entirely unnamed within the game, with no references to their potential names in-game or in files, only going by their species (or role in the case of the Jester) for any type of monicker.
- On top of this, no variation of any mascot suit has their own name either, simply sharing their name with the default suit.
- While Lyrical Lemur and Jester lack encounterable foam variations, they do have foam heads that can be found as static props.
