Mr. Helpful is a small bear animatronic who acts as a tour guide and an instructional animatronic for Murray's Costume Manor employees. He appears in many different areas of the location with many different outfits and roles, and is canonically voiced by his creator, Edwin Murray. He acts primarily as an optional expositional character in his debut game, Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic.
He also has a direct counterpart and canonical wife in the form of Mrs. Helpful.
Appearance[]
Regular[]
Mr. Helpful appears as a small white bear with a light yellow on his stomach, palms, inner ears, and covering on and around his entire face and chin. He has large rosy cheeks, small buck teeth, an underbite, and an elongated head with similarly elongated eyes. On top of his head are his eyebrows resting static on his forehead, and he wears a purple top hat and matching bowtie and buttons. He has long thin arms with four non-moving fingers on his hands, and a thick purple neck. Finally, the animatronic is attached to a mechanical arm that attaches the animatronic to whatever base he is currently on, and allows him to lean in any direction.
Outfits[]
Mr. Helpful appears in multiple different outfits depending on where the player encounters him. All of these outfits are simply different paint on his torso, and do not change the character's overall silhouette.
The first of which being his Ringmaster outfit, where he wears a red coat with golden trims and a yellow button-up vest underneath with red buttons. His top hat is changed to be black with a yellow ribbon around its base, and his bowtie is now a bright red to match his showman's jacket. His second outfit is a dark blue-green business suit with his buttons changed to match the suit's color, and a white dress shirt just barely seen underneath. His top hat and bowtie remain unchanged in this outfit. His third outfit is that of a carnival barker, with him wearing a white and red striped buttoned shirt with a red bowtie and a black top hat with a red ribbon.
His final outfit is that of a pajama appearance found only in the Storytime Showroom. In this appearance he wears a light blue pajama shirt with dark blue vertical stripes with white buttons. His top hat and bowtie have also been changed to be light blue, with the hat having a dark blue ribbon at its base.
Endo[]
An unfinished version of Mr. Helpful can be found in the later half of the game. These unfinished endoskeleton variants have almost an entirely exposed endoskeleton, with only the lower back-half of their head and their torso being covered with temporary suits. The only details of the original Mr. Helpful that are still distinguishable are his eyes, buck teeth, and his nose.
Gameplay[]

Mr. Helpful first appears as the announcer and ringmaster for the Welcome Show, announcing its start and then proceeding to join in on the singing at the end of it. He later appears in multiple areas serving specific minor roles such as a carnie for Big Top's showroom, or as a "Push to Talk" animatronic for employees to use as a reminder for what their job is in any given location depending on their position.
In some executive level dialogue, Mr. Helpful has personal messages from Edwin himself, one of which being his proposal to Fiona.
The unfinished endo version of Mr. Helpful appears in two different roller coaster-like carts that lead the player to Edwin's house or the Retail Showroom. The first appears to a personal update for Edwin himself, giving him his status on his bank account, his legal status, his employees, and his most recent project. The second one appears to have been originally part of the end of the Showroom tours done in the location, with it thanking visitors for coming and reminding them to return.
Unused Content[]
Another character known as Ringmaster Rat who appears only as a prop in the Retail Showroom, and in the tunnels leading to Edwin's mansion. This character is very similar in appearance to Mr. Helper, being a torso-only animatronic connected to a base with a mechanical arm allowing them to rotate and move around. It is very possible that this character was originally intended to be Mr. Helpful, or at least hold his position in the Welcome Show, evident by Ringmaster Rat's unused animations and even his presence outside the map of the Welcome Show room.

Trivia[]
- Mr. Helpful's default appearance doesn't actually appear anywhere in-game, as all his appearances wear one of his alternative outfits.
- On top of this, Mr. Helpful's pjama appearance only shows up in one location, being a prop in the Storytime Showroom that the player cannot interact with.
- Mr. Helpful in many ways is almost like a Fredbear equivalent to Helpy, being a variation of the character who originated in-universe before them, having a slightly altered name compared to their original variant, and even having yellow coloration and a purple top hat and bowtie.
- Mr. Helpful appears as the main face of the Human Education and Language Protocol Element Router (H.E.L.P.E.R.) system.
- Mr. and Mrs. Helpful are canonically voiced by Edwin and Fiona Murray respectively, mirroring the Helpful's position as a married couple. This is furthered by the four characters being voiced by Jim and Tamra Meskimen respectively, who are also a married couple in real life.
