“ | This t-time, death cannot save you-u. | ” |
— One of Nightmarionne's quotes.
|
Nightmarionne is the final boss and primary antagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's 4: Halloween Edition, who returns in Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted. He also returns in Security Breach and Help Wanted 2 in the form of hidden plushies.
Appearance[]
Nightmarionne is a tall, gangly black puppet animatronic with a white mask. Both his eyes hold a glowing white pupil, and his mask has black tears running down his face to his mouth. He has black lipstick, and many small, sharp teeth in his mouth. His body is thin, almost appearing bony in some places. He has short arms with three long, tentacle-like fingers coming from each hand, with multiple white stripes on each finger. His chest has small, rib-like protrusions coming from it, and an extremely thin stomach. From his small waist, he has two long, thin, twisted and knotted legs that end in a point.
History[]
While Nightmarionne made his debut in the Halloween Edition of Five Nights at Freddy's 4, his appearance in the game is deemed as non-canon to the story of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise.
In Help Wanted, Nightmarionne made his appearance in The Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience along with other Nightmare Animatronics.
Behavior[]
FNaF VR: Help Wanted[]

Nightmarionne's jumpscare in Help Wanted.
Night Terrors[]
Nightmarionne returns in the second Night Terrors level. He will approach from either the hallways, and his finger-tentacles will squirm out from the closet, hole in the ceiling, and under the bed. The player must fend Nightmarionne off at the doors while frequently using their light to repel the finger-tentacles. Failure to do either will result in a jumpscare from Nightmarionne, ending the run.
FNaF AR: Special Delivery[]
Nightmarionne was confirmed to be planned for the game, as his name and data is listed within text in Special Delivery's files. However, Nightmarionne would never be implemented into the game.
Trivia[]
General[]
- Nightmarionne is the only Nightmare Animatronic to possess only one set of teeth.
- Although Nightmare Chica's cupcake shares this feature, it is technically not its own separate animatronic.
- Nightmarionne is referenced several times in Security Breach, such as his plush being found in multiple locations throughout the Pizzaplex, as well as appearing on the side of one of the main arcade games.
- As well as this, the Nightmare S.T.A.F.F. Bots are likely designed after him, having black tears and painted-on smiles with sharp teeth.
FNaF VR: Help Wanted[]
- FNaF VR marks Nightmarionne's first canonical appearance.
- It is also the first game in which Nightmarionne has a fully animated jumpscare
- Nightmarionne's voice lines in the Help Wanted are reused from Ultimate Custom Night.
- Before Curse of Dreadbear, Nightmarionne was the only character in Help Wanted who had their lines reused from Ultimate Custom Night.
- Nightmarionne is one of two Nightmare Animatronics that doesn't appear in the Curse of Dreadbear DLC.
- The other is Nightmare Fredbear.
- Both, however, make minor cameos in Build-a-Mangle in the form of Nightmarionne's head & Nightmare Fredbear's hand.
- The other is Nightmare Fredbear.
- Nightmarionne is the second non-canon character to appear in Help Wanted, the first being Bonnet.
- The Jack-O's would also later be added in the Curse of Dreadbear, bringing the total of previously non-canon characters included in the game up to 4.
- Security Breach's RUIN DLC makes reference to Nightmarionne's appearance in AR, as the collectable AR Nightmare Plush, which is a digital Nightmarionne plush, has a description that claims Nightmarionne to be from "that old headset game".
- Nightmarionne is referenced several times in Security Breach, such as it's plush being found in multiple locations throughout the Pizzaplex, as well as appearing on the side of one of the main arcade games.
- This could suggest that the non-canon characters included in Help Wanted canonically originate from that game, though this is unconfirmed.
