The Puppet Crew are a set of old puppet characters who acted in a stage-show as the crew of the Pirate Captain. They make their first appearance in FNaF: Secret of the Mimic where they perform an episode of their stage show.
The crew consists of First-Mate Foxy, Roxy, Kit, Bawson, Renard and a myriad of cutout characters.
Appearance
All of the Puppet Crew hold similar appearances, with them being hand-puppets of the character's torso, head and arms, with them being controlled by mechanical wooden poles.
First-Mate Foxy is a large red fox puppet with pale colored stomach, snout and inner-ear. He is the largest of the puppets, requiring three poles to move his torso and each of his arms. He wears a worn green pirate's jacket with ropes draped along his chest and a torn red linen sash around his waist. His right hand is a silver hook, and his right eye is covered by a button eyepatch with a rope string. Finally, he wears bandages on his left arm and a small gold ring earring on his right ear.
Puppet Foxy is a small, dull purple wolf puppet with a short tail and lighter color fur on her stomach, lower jaw and the tip of her tail. Roxy wears a short red jacket with a small flame pattern on the bottom, purple bandages around her wrists, and two small black ball earrings at the top of each of her ears. Most notably, Roxy wears two eyepatches, with the right one having a skull and the left having crossbones.
Kit is a small orange fox puppet with a lighter shade of orange on his stomach, lower jaw and the tip of his short tail. He has a large red sash around his waistline, and a golden earring on his left ear. Finally, he holds a small toy sword in his right hand.
Bawson is a small black and white puppet of what appears to be a European badger. She wears a red bandana on her head with holes that allow her ears to protrude out, and a purple and white striped shirt with small tears at the bottom. Finally, she has big black rings around both of her eyes.
Renard is the final member of the crew and is a small orange fox puppet with fur identical to Kit's. Her is dresses as a chef with a chef's jacket and hat, as well as a small red ascot. His chef's hat covers his eyes, and he has a long thin mustache on the end of his snout. Finally, whilst difficult to notice, by looking right where his hat meets his eyes, it can be seen that Renard's eyes are green like Kit's.
The crew also holds multiple wooden cutouts of pirate characters, featuring an orange shark with a brown hat, belt and golden earrings, a crazed sea turtle with the skull and crossbones painted on its shell, a grinning mollusk covered in cracks with two earrings, a dopey blue and yellow flounder-like fish wearing a black cap and belt, and a large purple crab with crooked teeth holding up a treasure chest filled with golden doubloons. These characters appear briefly after Foxy calls for "all hands on Deck" but disappear soon after when the Captain wakes up.
Personality
Each of the Puppet Crew are portrayed with fairly one-dimensional personalities throughout the show. Foxy is arguably the most complex, being shown to be loud, commanding yet also encouraging and thoughtful, giving orders to his crew throughout the show whilst trying to keep them in good spirits and throw his Captain a surprise birthday party. Kit is first shown to be very nervous and reserved due to forgetting to get a present for the aforementioned party. Roxy first appears to be a jokester-esc character, making a pun within her first line of dialogue, but proceeds to spend the remainder of the show simply telling Foxy when other characters arrive. Bawson is depicted as a loyal crew member, following Foxy's orders to the best of her ability. Finally, Renard is depicted somewhat similarly to Bawson, however is also shown to have an exaggerated love of cooking and baking when its revealed Renard made far too many deserts for the party.
The most noteworthy aspects of the crew's personalities are the ways they speak, with Foxy and Roxy speaking like stereotypical depictions of pirates, Kit speaking more like a young child, and Bawson & Renard both having accents, with the former speaking in an almost Scottish-like accent, and the latter speaking with an exaggerated French accent.
History
The Puppet Crew were seemingly all made and designed by Fiona Murray, with one of the first being the Roxy puppet which Fiona made around the time of her son David's first birthday. Edwin would later put the puppets to use in his fully-automated children's show program, using them as an example for investors and buyers on how they can enter the television scene without having to worry about paying for actors, puppeteers, and even writers, with the Stage Manager software controlling everything, including the puppets.
When Arnold first encounters the puppets from within the Captain Springlock Suit, he is forced to participate in their performance, with the episode plot being that Foxy put on a party without permission from the crew's captain. By the end of the show, Foxy and the crew aid the Captain in scaring away a Rocktapus that was attracted to the ship by the party, and upon learning the party was for him, the Captain reveals to the sound of a laugh track that his birthday was the week prior. The show ends with the message that the perfect gift to the Captain was friendship all along, before the entire room collapses in on itself, ending the show prematurely.
Gameplay
During the puppet show, Roxy, Kit, Bawson & Renard will occasionally appear in front of the player as distractions, blocking their view of the targets that the player must shoot down. The player can shoot the waving puppets to get rid of them and progress with the show faster, though they will eventually leave after a short amount of time. If the player chooses to not shoot the targets, or shoots to few too slowly, one of the puppets will jumpscare and kill the player.
The cutout characters during these segments will also make brief appearances as distractions for the player.

- These crew puppets are the first iterations of Foxy and Roxy, canonically speaking.
- They are also the only crew members to have "Puppet" in their name, likely due to them not being new characters like the rest of the crew.
- Roxy being a pirate crew member who follows Foxy is ironic when considering a later version of the character would replace Foxy in the Freddy Fazbear band.
- Puppet Roxy having two eyepatches is likely a reference to Roxanne's shattered and ruined variations, who lost their eyes.
- Bawson's "I gave it all I got..." line could be a reference to Scotty from the Star Trek franchise.
- Strangely, Bawson's files all spell her name as "Bosun" rather than the correct spelling seen in-game.
- Renard's name is based on the word "fox" in French.
- The captions for the Pirate Chorus don't actually match their voicelines.
- The files themselves are mostly unintelligible garbling from multiple voices. In-game, however, the captions read as the quotes below.
- It is entirely possible that these are what the voice actors said, as bits and pieces of the dialogue can be heard if listened closely, though it is mostly unclear what exactly the chorus is saying.

- The Puppet Crew's jumpscare scream is reused from Sharpay.
- Additionally, multiple audio files from Tilt are reused for the Puppet Crew during their segment, specifically for when they appear in front of the player.
- It is unknown how exactly the puppet characters are able to kill the player, considering they are completely normal puppets rather than animatronic ones such as Bon-Bon or Bonnet from earlier in the series.
- It is possible that the wooden pole the puppets are on hitting the player's springlock suit could cause a failure in some way, though there is nothing to indicate this.
- It is possible that the puppets are being controlled by F10-N4 when they distract or attack the player, as not only is she able to see through the player's Springlock Suit when the Mimic isn't, but F10-N4 also believes itself to be the real Fiona, who created the puppets. Though this is unconfirmed.
- If Bawson is a European badger, it would make her one of only member of the crew who is not a canine, as the rest of the crew are red foxes minus Roxy and the Captain who are a gray wolf and a bulldog respectively.
- Despite the game referring to Foxy as the Captain's First Mate, Foxy's files refer to him as the Captain.
- This could suggest that Captain Springlock was a late addition, or more likely this was done to keep in theme with Foxy's previous incarnations.
