Shadow Mangle is the Hardmode counterpart of Mangle who appears in Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted.
Appearance[]
Shadow Mangle is virtually identical to Mangle, with the exception of their entire body being a singular charcoal-black coloration, with the sole exception of their yellow eyes, and their teeth, which remain white. The left eye on the fox head is similar Mangle's, being a shiny black-colored orb with a small white dot in the middle. In their updated jumpscare, the other two eyes change to match the black one, with all three holding white pupils. Unlike other Shadow animatronics like RWQFSFASXC or Dark Freddy, Shadow Mangle's body has a distinct texture, being an almost rough, stone or plastic-like texture.
Gameplay[]
Shadow Mangle makes their only appearance in the hardmode variant of Mangle Vent Repair. In the level, Shadow Mangle will try to approach the player and attack them alongside Mangle. Both Mangles act identically. During the level the player must repair the vents, following the computer voice's instructions. In order to defend against Mangle, the player needs to look directly at them to fend them off. Every time the player fixes a vent, a new one opens, resulting in a new path for one of the Mangles to take. Failure to keep Mangle at bay while performing a task will result in a run-ending jumpscare.

Trivia[]
- In their merchandise, Shadow Mangle has a slightly purple tint, and parts of their body are much lighter than the rest.
- This was likely done to make the merchandise more visually appealing, as Shadow Mangle is one singular color.
- Shadow Mangle is currently the only Hardmode Animatronic to have merchandise.
- Shadow Mangle is the only Hardmode Animatronic to be a separate character that accompanies their regular variant, unlike the others who replace their counterparts.
- Strangely, Shadow Mangle is the only character in the Ultimate Guide's character inventory to lack an image.
