Sleepy Moon is a secret mascot suit intended to be worn by a human that has been trapped in the lower levels of Murray's Costume Manor. It acts as the primary antagonist of the Moon.exe minigame, as well as a minor antagonist encounterable when attempting the secret ending of FNaF: Secret of The Mimic.
Appearance[]
Sleepy Moon is a large moon mascot whose body is composed primarily of his head, with his limbs sticking out of it. His moon head holds a large creepy grin with red lips, as well as a big nose, rosy cheeks, and large, angry-appearing eyes. He wears blue baggy pants with yellow stars along them and matching blue sleeves, with red cuffs on his wrists and ankles. His wrist cuffs have small golden bells on them, and his hands appear with a similar texture to his moon head. Finally, he wears yellow jester's shoes, and a small nightcap that matches the rest of his clothing.
The mascot suit when encountered is lit up, with the entire head glowing a bright yellow color. In his appearance in the Moon.exe game, he, like the rest of the graphics, appears pixelated and green.
Gameplay[]
In the Moon.exe game, Sleepy Moon acts at the primary antagonist, appearing in certain areas in the game to pop up and tell the player to go to bed, giving them a game over. The Moon only appears if the player goes somewhere without the intended item. If the player unlocks all collectable items in the minigame, they are able to progress through it entirely without being stopped by the Moon, assuming they do the correct tasks before progressing to each new area. At a certain point far into it, the player must construct a statue of a version of the Moon in order to complete the game.
As a mascot suit, Sleepy Moon is found in the under depths of the MCM studio accessed only in a secret elevator in the Retail Showroom. In these halls, Sleepy Moon will wander around singing his lullaby and ringing bells. If he spots the player, he will instantly charge towards them at fast speeds, forcing the player to hide in order to avoid being jumpscared.
Speculation[]
Sleepy Moon is heavily implied to not be controlled by the Mimic, but potentially a deceased employee. Multiple mail messages from someone trapped down where Sleepy Moon is make reference to being hungry and unable to communicate with the other employees, and others from different employees warn their fellow coworkers to not let something in the Retail Showroom's basement escape, implying that something to be a now-possessed Sleepy Moon. Though all this remains unconfirmed.

- Due to Sleepy Moon's bright glow in-game, it is impossible for the player to see many of the details on his face such as his rosy cheeks and red lips.
- Sleepy Moon is the only mascot costume whose mouth can open and close.
- Additionally, unlike all other costumes aside from the Jester, he is the only suit whose eyes can move.
- Sleepy Moon is one of two mascot costumes seemingly not controlled by the Mimic, with the other being the White Tiger.
- Sleepy Moon's lullaby is a slightly edited version of the english translation for Brahm's Lullaby, otherwise known as Wiengenlied, an old German lullaby composed by Johannes Brahms in 1868.
- This choice of song could potentially be in reference to the relationship of Fiona and David Murray prior to their deaths, as the lullaby is centered around the love and care for a child from a paternal figure, with the unedited original version of the song directly making mention of the child's mother.
- Sleepy Moon's design appears to be a combined reference to two nursery rhyme characters, being Humpty Dumpty and the Man in the Moon.
- Additionally, he coincidentally appears similar to the Moon from The Legend of Zelda; Majora's Mask.
- Interestingly, if the player turns off voice settings, Sleepy Moon's lullaby can still be heard from the building itself, likely as a result of an in-engine echo effect.
- Sleepy Moon's model name is "Nightlight" (sometimes spelt as "NightLight"), likely in reference to his glowing appearance.
- Sleepy Moon's arms in most of his animations appear limp, and will sway dramatically when he moves, likely due to the mechanism in which they're controlled seen via his blueprints.
- In the first patch for the game, Sleepy Moon's jumpscare was updated to have significantly less emission to, likely to avoid harming the player's eyes due to how bright the original version was.
