Monty is an old springlock suit stored in the Murray's Costume Manor RnD department. He acts as a wearable springlock suit in his debut game, Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic. He is an obvious precursor to Montgomery Gator.
Appearance[]
Springlock Monty is a light yellow-green colored alligator animatronic wearing bright blue overalls and a pale yellow straw hat with a red feather sticking out of it. His overalls, unlike his hat, are not actual clothing pieces attached to his body, but rather are painted and etched onto his torso and legs. He has a long snout filled with sharp teeth, and a long tail with sharp scutes lining it. His entire body appears rusted and weathered, with scratches and large patches of rusted metal all over his body. Finally, he has small green eyebrows, and faded reddish orange eyes.
Similarly to the other Springlock Suits, Monty has a large frame with limbs that are held together with rubber tubes and springs. While not visible, the upper middle bit of his chest acts as a button that opens up his stomach hatch to allow someone to crawl inside.
Gameplay[]
Monty appears as one of many wearable springlock suits hidden in Murray's Costume Manor's Research and Development section. He can be found in the area where Pirate's Cove would normally be inside the RnD department's prototype Freddy's, propped up on a stage. After opening the curtain on the stage, the player can activate the suit and wear it, hiding them from the Mimic, as well as allowing them to place the suit under the security light to drain the power and allow them to get other suits to do the same and access to the office holding F10-N4.

Trivia[]
Jugband Monty
- Monty's design is near identical to Jugband Monty's aside from the proportions and facial structure, implying that one could be based on the other.
- This would naturally make sense, as both are precursors to the Glamrock animatronic, Montgomery Gator.
- Monty, alongside Bub, appears to have originally been intended to be a member of the Freddy Fazbear band, as seen by its position in both the prototype Freddy's, as well as its presence in the bedtime story read to M2 in the secret ending.
