The Torture Freddy Head, more commonly referred to as simply Torture Freddy or Torture Chair Bear, is a device used to torture security guards that debuted in the Five Nights at Freddy's Movie. It is presumably created by William Afton.

Appearance[]

Torture Freddy is a withered, dull-green colored Freddy head attached to a large mechanical stand. On the frontside of the mask, the suit is covered in multiple stains, and has two spots near its nose and left eye where the suit has peeled off, revealing the plastic casing underneath. All of the suits teeth are broken, with bits of foam scattered around them, and one of the mask's eyebrows is gone, replaced with a piece of tape with a drawn-on eyebrow. Both his ears are extremely withered, with the left one resembling Nightmare Freddy's right ear. The eyes are completely dark in color, and the mask is suspended on its stand by rusted chains. On the inside, the mask consists of multiple curved saw blades and gears that rapidly spin. The inner side also reveals Torture Freddy's red glowing eyes, which dilate and contract when the device moves.

In some scenes in the backroom, as well as in the training video, Torture Freddy's body[2] can be seen on the ground. The body is a Freddy suit that holds a mostly similar color to Torture Freddy's mask, minus the left arm, which is a mixture of a dull yellow and gray. The body is missing its suit on the torso, right hand, right leg and right foot. The endoskeleton also appears to be a springlock one.

History[]

Torture Freddy is first seen in the cold open of the film in which near the end of the open, Bob is hooked up to the device and it begins to descend down onto his face as he struggles to get free. Later in the film, Torture Freddy is seen again, this time with Mike hooked up to it after he rejected giving Abby to the children souls. However, unlike Bob, Mike is able to escape the chair, causing Torture Freddy to damage and potentially destroy, itself in the process.

Torture Freddy's body is seen in the background of multiple scenes, most notably within the training video Mike watches on his first night, and with it sprawled on top of Jeff and Carl's bodies after Mike was able to escape Torture Freddy.

Trivia[]

  • Torture Freddy has multiple names given to him by his puppeteer, one of which is similar to a name given to Shadow Freddy by Maxine's actor.
  • Torture Freddy's true purpose outside of torturing guards before they're stuffed into suits is never revealed, though his puppeteer suggests the idea that it might simply just be Afton's own twisted way of killing people[3].
  • It is possible that Torture Freddy is somewhat sentient, as its eyes dilate and contract in reaction to both Mike and Bob when they try to squirm out of the chair.
    • Though this is purely speculation.
  • Unless Sparky is counted, Torture Freddy is the first brand new animatronic character to be introduced in the FNaF Movie.
  • Torture Freddy is the only backroom animatronic to be used in multiple pieces of advertising, being shown in almost every trailer and multiple commercials after the first.
    • Shadow Freddy is the only other character in the backroom seen in any advertising, popping up briefly a few times in the Security Footage promotional video.
  • It was confirmed that Cupcake has the same saw-like contraptions inside his mouth as Torture Freddy[4].
