2020 Facts

  • Did you know that a coffee machine from Scott's older game, The Desolate Hope, was featured in Help Wanted as an easter egg?
  • Did you know that the FNaF VR Halloween DLC, Curse of Dreadbear used to be called Rise of Franken Freddy?
  • Did you know that Special Delivery had an used feature called Faz Facts, where several FNaF lore is discussed?
  • Did you know that Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex is the first Fazbear location in game to have an official logo revealed?
  • Plushtrap was one of the first characters to be teased for FNaF AR, but never made it into the game until October 29th; just over 11 months after release!
  • The mobile port of FNaF: Help Wanted included an unexpected new mode under the name of "Princess Quest".
  • As seen in beta screenshots, Foxy did not always wear his pirate attire in the Pirate Ride level.
  • Vanny will mark the first human antagonist to make a 3D appearance in the series.
  • Flaming Springtrap was the first and only skin in Special Delivery to have a completely unique jumpscare animation.
  • Gregory and Vanessa are the first human characters to have their appearances shown outside of a simple minigame sprite.
  • Grimm Foxy actually has two other names in the files that are used to help differentiate his AI in different levels. These names are "Jack-O-Foxy" and "DLC Foxy".
  • Steel Wool actually used two different fan-models for VR. One was a Spring Bonnie model used in the first two teasers, and the other was an Endo-01 model that was later replaced with an official one.
  • Within the hardmode version of Ennard's Vent Repair level, many broken and distorted versions of various characters are strewn about, accompanied by two new characters being Virtualtrap & Nightmare Endo.

Springtrap mid
  • When removing the lighting from the levels, it was found that Virtualtrap is in fact just regular Springtrap and not another hardmode variant.
  • When Ringmaster Foxy was released, Funtime Freddy's textures were found in the files added with him.
  • Despite Woodland Toy Freddy & Boulder Toy Bonnie being released beforehand, all of the Haunted Forest skins were abstained from the group image used for the game's first anniversary.
  • The Black Friday merch event was released in two separate parts; a merch line for the Halloween Event and a merch line for the game's first anniversary. Despite this, it also included some merchandise for other previous characters and events, like a collectable card pack for the Dark Circus event.
  • In an interview with Kirin Sinha, it was revealed that more skins, gameplay mechanics, returning & brand new characters and more environment-based encounters will be coming to FNaF AR in 2021.
  • Despite Ballora gaining a skin & new music for said skin, the Minireenas experience no changes at all.
  • In Ennard's hardmode level, there is a total of 70 different props, including broken animatronics, animatronic pieces, distorted plushies, various props & Nightmare Endo.
  • In Freddy in Space 2, the level Cosmic Freeway only has 1 enemy, being Foxbot. This makes this level the only level in the whole game to not have any non-boss enemies that do not relate to the character obtained after beating the level.
  • Bonnie, Chica, Springtrap & Balloon Boy are all characters who got a skin 2 times in a row.
  • Jack-O-Bonnie & Jack-O-Chica were both released into the FNaF AR before multiple characters that already had data in the game's text files.
  • Despite not using it themself, Lolbit's pop-up still appears in FNaF VR via the television. It was used as a placeholder image for a long time before the Withereds Update was teased.
  • Within the Pirate Ride minigame, there's a rare chance that Nightmare Cupcake will run out in front of the player's buggy while in one of the backrooms.
  • Despite releasing alongside the event, Golden Freddy is not considered a part of the Winter Wonderland event. Despite this, he still got his own Winter Wonderland exclusive avatar icons.
  • As confirmed by Kirin, Frostbear & 8-Bit Baby are not the only newly introduced characters coming to FNaF AR.
  • Plushtrap is the fastest instance of a character getting a skin after their release, getting a skin less than two months after his release.
  • Golden Freddy is the third character to obtain a voice in FNaF AR. His voice however, isn't obvious, as it is sped up greatly in-game.
  • 2020 was the first year since 2014 to not introduce a new FNaF game.

2021 Facts

  • Security Breach is the only FNaF game to ever be delayed, breaking the usual trend of the games releasing when announced or earlier than planned.
  • Vanny is the first main antagonist to attack the player that is not an animatronic.
  • Recently found code in AR shows that characters such as the Jack-O's & Golden Freddy are planned to gain skins before 8-Bit Baby, who came out before them.

  • Freddy Fazbear, Toy Bonnie, Golden Freddy, Glitchtrap & Bonnet are the only characters whose voice actors go uncredited.
  • Due to Funko merchandise, Foxy is now the only character out of the main four animatronics to not have a chocolate variant, as Freddy & Chica gained their own via action figures.
  • The three unused models of the Withered animatronics upon closer inspection are actually lower-poly versions of Scott's original models.
  • Within the files, a table model that was purchased online is named "Norman'sBedroom". This is the base name for the model, but despite that fact, many fans drew conclusions that it was the identity of the Bite Victim from Five Nights at Freddy's 4. This was debunked when somebody pointed out that the model is named that from purchase. Said model goes entirely unused within the game.
  • In the Dawko Interview, Scott mentioned how he scrapped two characters from FNaF 1, but said characters appeared in later games. Many have speculated them to be Marionette & Balloon Boy, as they are the only unique characters who appear in the games before Sister Location.
  • Many speculate that Chocolate Freddy & Chocolate Chica may appear in FNaF AR, as code within the game mentions an "Easter Chica" character. It is unknown if the two are the same character however.
  • FNaF AR is the only game since FNaF World to see the return of all 6 FNaF 1 characters.
  • Yenndo is the only canon character from Sister Location who has not appeared in another game.
  • According to the scrapped Fazfacts, the Rockstar Animatronics are revamped versions of the original 4 animatronics from FNaF 1.
  • Through bits of unused messages within the code, it's implied that the Withereds, Funtime Chica & the Nightmares will be coming to AR.
  • The only skins to not change appearance when damaged are the three Arcade Mayhem Skins, Radioactive Foxy & Swamp Balloon Boy. As well as this, Freddy Frostbear & 8-Bit Baby don't change appearance when damaged either.
  • Flaming Springtrap, Swamp Balloon Boy, Arctic Ballora and Frost Plushtrap were all leaked a day in advance to their release.
  • Within FNaF 2's code, many characters are giving alternative names, with the Toys being called "New" and the Withereds being called "Old". As well as this, the Puppet is also called "Sock Puppet".
  • The name "Jeremy" is used three times within the franchise. Once for the FNaF 2 nightguard, once for one of the missing children and once for a character in FNaF VR.
  • In FNaF AR's unreleased emails, a lot is revealed about the lore, but one bit of information that sticks out is the information that Bonnie had eaten a cat. This was most likely meant to show off the aggressiveness of the animatronics.

  • Within FNaF AR's files, there's a render of Freddy's hand that goes entirely unused.
  • Springtrap is the first character to gain 4 skins in FNaF AR.
  • Phone Guy has the most appearances out of any character in the franchise, appearing in 6 games.
  • Curse is the first skin to not have the name of the original animatronic in it. It's unknown as to why this is the case.
  • FNaF AR has the largest amount of new antagonists of any main-line FNaF game, introducing (as of writing this) 31 new antagonists (if the skins are counted as separate characters). When taking spin-off games into account, FNaF AR takes second place to that of FNaF World.
  • By technicality, Dark Water Bare Endo is the very first fish-based animatronic in FNaF.
  • Shamrock Freddy and Dark Water Bare Endo are the only skins in AR to have shop renders.
  • The first characters to get 4 skins in AR (as of writing this) are ironically both Bonnie variants, being Bonnie himself and Springtrap.
  • Glitchtrap's name has been a huge area of controversy in the fanbase, as some prefer the fan name "Malhare" while others use his various other names, such as "Spring Bonnie Man" or "The Anomaly". However, despite this, Steel Wool has confirmed his name to be Glitchtrap on multiple occasions, in things such as Twitter posts and official merchandise.
  • Easter Bonnie has had his eye color changed at four different points. His teaser has brown eyes, when he first released he had green eyes, which were later changed to the correct light blue color and finally, some of his newer assets show him with the same orange eyes that Chocolate Bonnie has.
  • Despite not gaining skins with Arctic Ballora, the Minireena gained the "Clockwork Minireena" skin with Clockwork Ballora's release. Despite this, Clockwork Ballora does not have a unique music track like Arctic Ballora.
  • Little Red Chica and Big Bad Foxy were the first skins to be revealed before their event aired, as the Scary Tales event had to be delayed due to bug issues.
  • Illumix was selected by Disney to join the 2021 Disney Accelerator.
  • Despite the steam release stating it came out on the 18th, FNaF's anniversary is celebrated on August 8th because the game originally released on a website known as Desura, before being reuploaded to steam 10 days later.
  • Freddy's original name was actually "Freddybear", in reference to Teddy Bears.
  • Springtrap's name was revealed not by the game, but by the steam description for FNaF 3.
  • Freddy, unsurprisingly, has the most amount of variants than any character in FNaF, coming around to about 90 different Freddys at the time of writing this. Note, this excludes merchandise, Quidd and book variants of the character, only counting variants appearances in games.
